Strawberry, Banana, and Kale Smoothie
1 cup strawberries
1 banana, cut into pieces small enough for your blender
4 large leaves of kale, chopped
1 cup of either coconut water, milk, unsweetened almond milk, or unsweetened coconut milk
1 tbsp flax seeds or hemp seeds (optional)
Add kale, and coconut water or milk to the blender and blend until smooth. Add strawberries banana and flax seeds and continue blending until smooth.
- Try using frozen bananas and frozen strawberries. Just be sure to peel your bananas and break them into pieces before freezing them. They are very hard to peel once frozen!
- Use spinach or romaine lettuce in place of kale
- Use blueberries, raspberries, peaches, or a combination of fruit in place of strawberries
- Add a handful of almonds, walnuts, or cooked cold oatmeal for added protein and a thicker consistency
