Serves 3 - 4
- ¼ cup Tamari soy sauce
- ¾ cup water
- 1 tbsp peeled & freshly grated ginger
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 cup of uncooked brown rice (or 3 cups cooked)
- 2 to 3 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cups of sliced veggies, onions and/or meat or seafood (I use carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, spinach & green onions plus organic chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp)
Cook the rice according to directions on the package or follow this recipe for basic brown rice.
To make the sauce combine the soy sauce, water, ginger & honey in a small pot over high heat. Bring to a boil and then keep on a low simmer while you prepare the rest of the meal.
Chop the veggies, and meat/seafood all to a similar size.
In a wok or large sauté pan heat the oil over medium heat then add the veggies and meat/seafood. If you're using mushrooms, wait to add them until towards the end since they don’t take as long to cook.
Once the vegetables are soft and the meat is cooked through, add the sauce.
Serve over the cooked rice, garnish with green onions.
